New Zealand, at last! We are staying with Jill and John (Charlotte’s family) who have been amazingly helpful. They have taken us sightseeing in the Waitakeries, to the west of Auckland to see waterfalls and beaches and helped us get our van (called Molly) sorted!
Our first trip in the van, to a reservoir.
Reservoir overflow
After the reservoir, we headed to Piha beach where I managed to sprain my ankle with a badly judged leap over a stream! The obvious course of action was to walk it off with a hike (or hobble) up to a waterfall, which didn’t really help the ankle but it was a nice waterfall.

A few days later Jill and John took us to Muriwai beach in the 4×4. The west coast of NZ seems to be full of beaches that double as roads so we took a drive up the beach and saw a few seals along with a few wrecked cars that had been caught by the tide, ripped apart and washed back up.

Lol, I’m very pleased to hear you have named your van
These pictures are beautiful! Also, it is good to see you guys in one piece too x
I’m glad you like the pictures and approve of the van’s name. We’re not sure where the name Molly came from, probably had to have a name starting with M because of Maude! We’ve been living in the van for a while now and its awesome. Its only a little van so the entire back is full of double bed sat on a false floor with all our stuff stored underneath. We’re not gonna want to sell her when we leave!
